Amanda Mays Bledsoe Officially Files for State Senate in Fayette County

Lexington councilmember Amanda Mays Bledsoe filed her candidacy today to represent Fayette County residents living in Kentucky’s 12th Senate District. The district is represented by long-term State Sen. Alice Forgy Kerr, who has chosen not to seek re-election.

Kentucky League of Cities membership elected Lexington councilmember Amanda Mays Bledsoe to the organization’s Board of Directors. Bledsoe is in her fourth term on the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council and represents Lexington's 10th district. She will serve on the KLC Board of Directors for the next year and help lead the organization and shape its legislative advocacy.

“Lexington is the epicenter of central Kentucky,” said Bledsoe. “I understand the complexities at play and have demonstrated my ability to get things done for the community I love. I am ready to take our local voices to Frankfort and lend my experience in the Senate.”
